Resorts, Marinas, boat launches &
Parks on Steamboat Slough Today

Even back in the 1850's travelers on Steamboat Slough
noticed how beautiful the trees along the banks were, and
that there were "snug little cabins" tucked away hidden
behind the natural willows and bank vegitation.
Today
Steamboat Slough is still a favorite destination for Bay
Area boaters who want to "gunkhole" up along the shade trees
between Sutter and Grand Island, or dock at the
family-oriented small resort on the peninsula called Snug
Harbor. (See Navigation
Map)
On Steamboat Slough the traveler will
find a sailboat marina, private home communities, RV resort,
waterfront rental cabins, small convenience store with gas
dock, boat launch (for resort use only), a county park with
public boat launch and parking area, two private beach
areas, and another small marina at the north end of
Steamboat Slough.
Exploring
Steamboat Slough and the Historic Delta Region by land is
quite fun and brings a unique experience for most
Californians: ride in your vehicle on one or two
ferrys (its free!) run by CalTrans, over to Ryer Island
which boarders Steamboat Slough. For details, see the
