Above is a very large section of the 1906 survey of the San Joaquin Delta area, with current location names added in red for reference

Above page is scanned from a book about the Delta King and other passenger boats of the Sacramento River.  Steamboat Slough was the shorter route...which is the very reason it was named "Steamboat Slough!".
                                                 

Above is a very large section of a riverboat captain's hand-made map of the landings.  A copy was provided by the great-grandson of the captain!
